Etienne is Senior Big Compute Architect at Intel Corporation, focusing on bringing HPC into the Cloud, and on data movement optimization. He leads solutions architecture, Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence efforts for his organization. Before his current role, Etienne served as product architect, designer, and builder in four different groups at Intel Corporation. He also held similar roles at AMD, and at Nortel Networks in the past.
Prior to joining Intel Corporation, Etienne was the Technology Director and the Datacenter Architect at Cartagene/CPAC, a Pan-Canadian precision medicine organization, where he led the datacenter infrastructure and security architecture, and the day-to-day operations of the technology department.
He also served as Lead Infrastructure Enterprise Architect at PSP Investments, one of Canada’s largest public sector pension fund managers. Throughout his tenures, Etienne has developed a datacenter disaster recovery architecture, and a closed work relationship with the broader business units and operation teams to help drive optimal P&L, roadmaps, and strategies.
Etienne is an avid educator with an unsatiated passion for talent organization and optimization. In 2019, he founded the Intel Talent Nebula, an incubator to accelerate dynamic problem solving, mentorship through apprenticeship, talent engagement, and retention. Beside his day-to-day activities, he also serves as the Nebula’s principal investigator.
He holds a PhD in computer sciences, with focus on operations research and optimization applied to computer architecture and organization, from Université de Montréal, Quebec, Canada. He also received a M.Sc. degree and B.Sc. of Science in Engineering with great distinction.
